The second of the two premolars on the upper left, just in front of the first molar.
- In front: #12 upper left first premolar
- Behind: #14 upper left first molar
- Same tooth on the other side: #4 upper right second premolar
- Bites against: #20 lower left second premolar
It replaces the upper left baby second molar (J), which falls out at 10–12 years.
Usually one root (1–3) and usually one canal (1–3).

This tooth is #13 in the US and 25 in the international (FDI) system, where the 2 means the upper left quarter and the 5 is its place counting from the front.
In the international system, 13 is the upper right canine (#6).
And in the US, #25 is the lower right central incisor.
